Roomba 580 Review

The Roomba 580 comes with one wireless control centre (aka remote control). Roomba 580 is able to communicate with the lighthouse which guides the Roomba to finish cleaning the room before going on to the next room. The lighthouse also can be used as a "virtual wall" which is able to keep Roomba within the marked confined area. Roomba 580 also have scheduling function. It is able to be programmed to clean your house on any scheduled date and time that you wish on a weekly basis. For example, you can set the vacuum time to be say, every weekday at 5pm. Can you imagine that by the time you had reached home from your tiring work, the work has already been cleaned and will find Roomba docked at the charging base station ready for its next scheduled job? Following are the highlights of Roomba 580 a) As Roomba 580 supports scheduling function, it allows Roomba to work without any human intervention and thus saving you lots of time and money to maintain your floor cleanliness. b) Roomba 580 supports remote control function. You can remotely control Roomba to any area that you want it to clean and you can simply guide it back to the docking station which look like a cool Star War jets in action. c) iRobot has improved the side brushes on Roomba 580. The side brush are now made of softer material and it will actually stop spinning in situations where it hit a corner hard thus preventing it from sudden breakage like what I had reported in my Roomba 535 model. Conclusion One of the latest model, Roomba 580 has several improvement over the older 500 series model. The side brush breakage issues has been improved on this model. Besides that, it provides all the functions that a true Roomba robot should have and that are - Remote control, lighthouse technology and scheduling function. The only catch is you still have to empty the Roomba's dust bin when it gets full! Thanks Mave for the contribution for this Roomba 580 review article
